(More customer reviews)I'll admit that I'm new to the whole clipping tiles thing, so this is the first pair of nippers that I've ever bought. But I've been doing mosaics for awhile and these do just what they're supposed to do, so I'm happy. They're not too heavy, but I wouldn't call them "lightweight" - they're substantial, which is what I wanted since the ceramic tiles I'm breaking are 1/4" (2mm) thick. (The tiles themselves are little - about 1" by 1" squares.) I was wary about whether these nippers would work at first but was very pleasantly surprised. It takes a bit of muscle, but I just place them at the edge of the tile and squeeze, and voila. (I'm female and about 115lb, btw.) It won't always give you perfect little shapes (unless you pre-cut/file), but it breaks the pieces as desired. Overall good product.
